Ecotourism

The schools of DEAF Inc. are building different facilities to complement the rich natural resources in their surrounding areas.

DEAF Inc. School in Cavinti, Laguna started building its grounds to attract guests for camping, nature trail hikes, bird watching, kayaking, and fishing. In the last two years or so, many local tourists have been visiting the mountains of Cavinti for its recently discovered caves and water falls. For a small donation, tourists can enjoy the different facilities offered at the school. The school is set to build a cafeteria opened to the public, outdoor eating areas, and a guest house for tourists that preferred indoor accommodations.

Groups also frequent the school for tree planting and farming. Keeping the forest healthy within the school provides for richer soil fit for crop planting. Crops are harvested for the consumption of the school and for fund raising at the same time. Currently the school produces rice, different vegetables, and seasonal fruits.

DEAF Inc. Palawan is also on its way to becoming a tourist destination in the province. The farm in the school already produces various crops and flowering plants.
